Coronation Gardens
Coronation Gardens was opened to the public in 1903. The original wrought iron gate entrance remains on Merton Road with an avenue of horse chestnut trees flanking the path leading into the park. This has a plaque commemorating the opening of the public gardens and the fact that the fountain was donated by the sisters of the Mayor. The gardens are bounded by new railings to Pirbright Road and walled the other three sides, overlooked by buildings.
