Activity Tooting Common, Wandsworth
Making It

When trees on Tooting Common were blown over by a big storm in 1987, some of the wood and remaining stumps were used to create sculptures in the park, many of which can still be seen today.

Find some sculptures

Look in books and on the internet to see if you can find other sculptures in parks and open spaces. Were any of these made from recycled materials? Were any by famous sculptors or artists?

Design your own

Do a drawing or design of a sculpture, statue or piece of art to go in your local park, school grounds or other public space.

Using receycled materials, build a model of your design.
